Penguins Hampered by Trade Rumors

Walpole, Ma - Following a big win against division rivals the Iceholes, trade rumors have begun to surface in regard to a key player on the Provo Penguins team. The rumors coming out of Walpole indicate that a key player on the Penguins roster will be traded to the Washington D.C. Dingos. The Dingos are considered to be a premiere team in the MASHL (Mid-Atlantic Senior Hockey League).

Although the player’s name has not been released at this time, the understanding is that the player to be traded is one of the key players to the organization, and the impact could be astronomical to the team's success.

"We can neither confirm nor deny the trade rumors at this time," commented James A. Nuss, Penguins attorney. "At any given time teams are discussing how they can make their own situation better, and trades are always part of that conversation. The Penguins, like every other team out there also have financial concerns, and sometimes that means key players need to be moved in order to open up salary cap space."

One source close to the organization, felt that the deal was imminent, and that the Penguins Organization would be 'making a grave mistake'.

"This will set the organization back dramatically," commented the source, who wished to keep his identity private. "There will be an impact on the team’s ability to win games, and there will be an impact with ticket sales. This is huge."

Chris Eighmy, Penguins Captain, was available for comment after Wednesday morning's practice, and had this to say.

"This is absolutely bull-[expletive]," said the disgruntled Egg-man. "To be talking about trades this far into the season is crap! But our job is to play hockey. If the front-office wants to play games with our roster that is their business. We have a big game coming up, so that's where we are focused. I can't think about the 'what if' scenarios right now, I can only continue taking it one game at a time."
