Through the power of alcohol, it was discovered that the Eagle Brook Team is loaded with ex-college and ex-AHL players. That fact, coupled with a 20+ player roster, Eagle Brook could prove to be a formidable foe to the Whalers. From the source at the bar, the team has less talented players too, however it has enough talent and a stacked bench to tire any team on the ice.
"Do they need a goalie?" Asked Roode I, Whalers goalie. "I mean, for the playoffs? Let me know I might know "someone" who would be interested!"
If the Whalers come out flat like they did against Coops Bar and Grille 2 (not to be confused with Coops Bar and Grille 1), they may find themselves down quickly in the matchup this Monday night in Foxboro.
"This is the biggest game of our young lives,"commented the Egg-man. "I did not see the intensity in the last practice that I would like to see, and a few players like Little Sean Hickey didn't even show! He hasn't made one practice this season, and I'm starting to think his heart isn't into this game or the team. If he weren't so good I'd have to pull him from the roster."
In preparation, Roode I has been listening to Phish non-stop since last Sunday's game against Coops Bar and Grille 2. He hopes to put up a formidable wall to the onslaught expected to pour down the ice during the game.
"I've seen over a hundred Phish shows," the goalie shouted, with his ipod blaring in his ears. "I don't get the connection with stopping a rubber puck, but it seems to work...or it could be the Phish Brownies I eat before the game, it is all good."
The questions remain, and they are numerous:
- Will the sponsorship talks prove too distracting for the team?
- Will the ex-AHL/College players prove too much for the Whalers?
- Will Reposo get the damn jerseys before the 2011 Winter Season starts?
- Can anyone else on the team name one Phish song?
- Can Sherwood be serious wearing a tie-dye t-shirt in public?
- Will Cronin jump teams before or after he pays?
- Will Curchin's mom finally write the check so he can pay for the damn season already?
All these questions and more will be answered on the 19th. For now, all we can do is wait for the match-up and hope the Whalers kick some major butt!
